What Makes a Just for Pets Baby Bird so Special?
1 Hand-Fed
All of our baby birds are hand-fed. By hand-feeding our babies, they learn at a very young age to trust and like people. This makes a huge difference in the disposition of the bird (making them very trusting of people).
2 Hand-Raised
We make a point not just to hand-feed our baby birds, but to also hand-raise them. All of our babies receive individual attention other than just feeding the baby. We play with our babies regularly, which is what makes them so lovable and affectionate.
3 Given Proper Guidance
We teach all of our baby birds the step up command, which is essential for any training you decide to give your bird in the future. We also teach all of our babies to fly, and more importantly, land, before their wings are trimmed. This is essential because flying and landing must be learned at a young age, or it is very difficult for them to learn in the future.
4 Raised on a Good Quality Diet
When weaning our babies, we use the technique of abundance weaning (offering many different types of foods),which encourages the bird to explore new foods. We also raise our birds onto a pelleted diet instead of seed. Pellets contain all the vitamins and minerals your bird needs, and doesn’t allow the bird to pick out only the seed(s) it likes. A pelleted diet should constitute about 70% of a birds diet, and should be supplemented with healthy foods (i.e. fruits, vegetables, pastas, grains, beans, breads), not only for the nutritional value they offer, but also for their mental health . Could you imagine having to eat the same thing everyday?
5 Socialized
We take the time to socialize our baby birds by handling, playing with, and talking to them daily. Also, they have been exposed to other talking birds, which increases the likelihood that they will talk.
6 Raised with Toys/Taught how to Entertain Themselves
All of our baby birds are given an abundance of toys to play with. This is very important because they have learned how to entertain themselves. If they are not taught to play when they are babies, they will not take to toys when they are older, which will lead to boredom and depression, potentially causing noise problems.
7 Healthy
All of our birds health is guaranteed, and all babies have been checked out by Dr. Louis M. Wiest, Jr. DVM.
Many of our babies are born in our own breeding program, or come from reputable, trustworthy breeders in the area which we have dealt with for years.
